Buffering selected features in MapIT

Using the buffer tool in MapIT

This tool may be used after searching for a parcel, road or other object on the map, or after selecting and drilling down to an image of parcels. Generally, the process is:

Buffering

• Locate the desired feature on the map.
• Use the Select Features tool to mark or select the desired feature.
• Select surrounding features by clicking the Buffer Selected Features tool.

• Fill in the correct information for the Select Items Layer and the Buffer Distance (in Feet)sections.
• Click Buffer. Items within the desired number of feet of the currently selected item will be selected.
• Clear the selection by clicking the Select features tool, then click the Clear selections tool.
