Using graphics and text in MapIT

Adding graphics and or text to an image

Graphics such as rectangles, lines and other objects may be added to a map image to enhance it. Text may also be added to describe an object, add an address or name or other text.

To add graphics to the map, click the Add Graphics & Text to Map Graphics/text tool toolbutton. The following dialog appears:

Adding graphics

Select the tool such as Polygon
Select the desired color from the Color dropdown box.
Click the desired location on the map image.
Drag the mouse to the desired size and release the mouse.

Available graphic tools include:

Name	Icon
Polygon
Rectangle
Polyline
Line
Point
Circle

Removing graphics

Click the Select Graphictool.
Click the graphic object on the map.
Click the Clear Added Graphics tool.

Note: To clear ALL graphics, click the Clear Added Graphics tool without first using the Select Graphic tool.

Adding text

Click the Text tool.
Type the desired text in the Text area.
Select the desired Color, Size and Font.
Click on the desired location on the map. The text will appear.

Removing text

Click the Select Graphic tool.
Click the graphic object on the map.
Click the Clear Added Graphics tool.

Note: To clear ALL graphics, click the Clear Added Graphics tool without first using the Select Graphic tool.
