Selecting features from MapIT

Obtaining information from MapIT using the select tool

The select tool allows the MapIT user to find information about individual or multiple features located on the map.

To select features

Select tools

Tools available on the Select Toolbar:

Name Icon Description
Select by point select point Click on select by point button: Select a single point on the map or image for which attributes should be displayed.
Select by rectangle select rectangle Click on select rectangle: Click on the select rectangle tool then click and drag a rectangle around the features of interest.
Select by polygon select polygon Click on select polygon: Click on the select polygon tool then click the verticies of the polygon around the features of interest, and double click to complete the polygon.
Open selection attribute table Open attribute table Open selection attribute table: Click on the open selection attribute table and a table of all of the selected features will open in the Selected Results window.
Select layer select layer Click the select layer drop down arrow: Select a map layer for which attributes should be displayed. The default layer is "Parcels.".

Tools available on the Selected results window:

Name Icon Description
Zoom to selected Click on the zoom to selected: The extent of the map will adjust to show all of the selectied features.
Select all featutres Click on select all features: This will select all of the features in the selected data (even if the selected item has been unchecked).
Flip selection Click on the flip selection button: This will flip all of the selections so that all of the checked items become unchecked and the unchecked itmes will become checked.
Create a report Click create a report: A .pdf report is generated with information about the selected data.
Save data Click on the save data button: A spreadsheet will be created in a .csv format.
